Last week I started my first unit of study for my Bachelor of Communications, with the Open University. I am not sure how far I will progress, with travelling and moving and trying to find work again, but the intent is to do a few subjects and see how I go.

I started off, with Photography - an introduction through RMIT university and I now have all my materials and have started on the coursework. The first activity was to profile and international photographer and I chose Michael Kenna. I have been doing the research over the last week and wrote the draft today. I wasn't aware that his work spanned 4 decades and he has taken some amazing shots. He had a fabulous video on his shoot in Hokkaido in Japan, it was just great to see how he worked and the thought process behind his shots. I have started researching my second activity as well, photography galleries on the web. I have to say I am loving the topics so far and it is a great excuse to buy photography magazines as well!.
